Spins Do Not Have to Be Deadly

Stalls and spins are often feared.  Sometimes they are deadly.  These both can be demystified and even embraced.  SPART is a topic specific seminar that focuses on Stall/Spin Prevention, Awareness and Recovery Training.  Concepts like turning tendencies, stall recovery procedures, spin phases/principle/recovery techniques and more are discussed.  With a heavy emphasis on angle of attack (AOA), pilots will have a clear understanding how AOA plays into stall and spins.  Taught by veteran CFI Robert Haynes who is passionate about teaching spins and has done over 3500 spins and certified hundreds of CFI candidates. In fact, Robert recently set the world record for most number of individual spins in one flight.  He did 100 individual spins (not just turns). Come and enjoy SPART.  You won’t be disappointed.

This is a FAAST  event, you can earn credit for your attendance.

Club Picnic 2026 Pics

 We had a great evening thanks to perfect weather, Mary's Place for feeding us, Dave Newell telling us about the Spruce Goose and the Indiana Aviation Hall of Fame.  Thanks to Tom Wood aviation for hosting us and all the folks who came out and got to see the Flying Sycamores and the Purdue Aviation teams that participated and won in the recent Air Race.  Our club has been awarding the Margaret Rinkenburg trophy to the top team from Indiana.  Thanks to Chuck Poland and Ken Pendleton for their work in keeping that tradition.  Also, great thanks to Mark Poliak, whose tireless efforts led to a successful auction fund raiser so we could donate to the future racers on those teams.
